ABOUT JENNIFER PENNER
Internationally acclaimed actor and model, Jennifer Penner, is known for her unique German and Russian background, and wide range in acting performances, propelling compelling narrative stories.
Jennifer started her dance career at six years old, performing in Warstein, [varsh-tine] in western Germany. Lauded for her dance performances, she soon garnered the attention of dance coaches in the region, ready to train her as a solo dancer.
She spent the next decade doing solo dance performances and collaborating with a traditional ‘Gardetanz’ [gaar-deh-tunz] German “carnival dance” troupe.
After studying Business in college in Soest [zo-west], Jennifer had dreams of the big screen, and desired more out of her life than was afforded her in her small town. Pursuing acting in Hollywood was the natural next step.
Coming to America in 2019, Jennifer was struck by how excited people get exploring new ideas, new opportunities, and most importantly, being open to taking risks, which is a stark difference from her experience growing up. In Los Angeles, Jennifer was emboldened to explore new art forms and concepts, in multiple languages.
Being fluent in English, German, and Russian, she immediately began doing VoiceOver work for feature films and TV shows, and translating American commercials into the German language for the European market.
When she’s not at the beach, Jennifer studied acting full-time at a boutique film and acting school in Santa Monica, California. She focused on the acting technique classes, such as Sanford Meisner, Konstantin Stanislavski, and taking inspiration from the renowned playwright, Anton Chekhov.
As a complement to her acting classes, Jennifer explored the art of cinematography. Throughout her final semester, she collaborated as a 1st Assistant Camera, and supporting actor, on the short film, Stay Sane, which went on to win dozens of awards at film festivals around the world.
Jennifer was soon thrust into the acting world, with Hollywood mostly shut down in 2020, and having to adjust to the new norm of added health precautions while working on film productions. Conveniently, VoiceOver was able to continue unhindered because of the minimal crew often required. Jennifer specialized in developing her own voice characters, as well as dubbing films and TV shows to English, German, and Russian.
Modeling happened organically for Jennifer, while auditioning for various acting jobs, specializing in print, commercial, and lifestyle photo shoots. Jennifer was commissioned to do a print modeling ad campaign for Stella Rosa Winery, and model for a variety of clothing brands throughout the years. As an actor, Jennifer has been featured in commercials for international technology brands, such as Panasonic and Hewlett Packard, and national food brand, Del Taco.
In 2022, German TV production, TAFF, in collaboration with Imageworx Productions, produced a short documentary film chronicling Jennifer Penner’s journey, leaving her life in Germany, and starting a new life, by herself, on the other side of the world. Jennifer’s story reached millions, as she was introduced not only to viewers in her small town of Warstein, but all across German TV.
Shortly after, Jennifer began stunt training to branch out into video game motion capture and character development. She is also invaluable behind the camera, as she has experience on set, as 2nd Assistant Director, and 1st Assistant Camera
on multiple film productions.
As an actor, Jennifer brings her own authentic attributes to each character she develops and performs, often inspiring alternate ways for directors to interpret how a character can be portrayed on screen. She is known for her embrace of her Slavic roots, and masterful use of German and Russian linguistics.
Jennifer Penner continues her pursuit of new and intriguing acting roles, with the goal of performing a lead role in a major motion picture.
